“Yo diría que hay 99% de posibilidades de repetir a Ugueto. Ahí no debería haber ninguna sorpresa ni ningún cambio”, afirmó para Triángulo Deportivo el gerente general de los Tigres, Roberto Ferrari. “Estamos muy contentos con el trabajo que él hizo el año pasado. Por situaciones que escapaban de sus manos, como las lesiones, se complicó un poco el funcionamiento del equipo en determinado momento. Pero quedamos satisfechos”.

Durante la ronda eliminatoria, los Tigres de Ugueto tuvieron récord de 17-20, que les bastó para quedar segundos en una división Central donde convivieron con los dos clubes de peor desempeño durante el torneo: Tiburones de La Guaira y Leones del Caracas. Ugueto, quien venía de alzar el trofeo campeonil con Cardenales, se quedó a las puertas de su segunda final sucesiva.
La Guaira evalúa candidatos
A diferencia de los Tigres de Aragua, los Tiburones de La Guaira aún evalúan opciones para el cargo de dirigente en la zafra 2021-2022.
Fernando Veracierto, gerente deportivo del club, afirmó para Triángulo Deportivo que en las próximas dos semanas la organización espera dar a conocer al elegido. “Russell Vásquez está entre los candidatos. Hizo un buen trabajo y es de la casa. Dennis Malavé sigue siendo un plan que no hemos podido ejecutar. Son dos candidatos. Hay otros tres o cuatro. Pero no hay decisión oficial ni nos estamos inclinando por alguna alternativa. Estamos evaluando. La gente pide un mánager ranqueado, pero si no tenemos el talento en el terreno, ni que traigas a Tony La Russa. El año pasado fue duro, pero estamos preparándonos desde ya”.
