Los Bravos se agruparon, concretaron detalles y saltaron al terreno en Valencia. Finalmente iniciaron su pretemporada en el José Bernardo Pérez, a 24 horas de arrancar la campaña 2020-2021 de la Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional (LVBP), aunque en definitiva será el sábado 28 de noviembre cuando arranquen su participación en el torneo.
Debido a las dificultades logísticas, Margarita solicitó a la LVBP posponer el encuentro del día inaugural contra los Navegantes del Magallanes, de acuerdo a la información del periodista Efraín Zavarce. La petición fue aprobada, sin embargo, Bravos estará listo para enfrentarse a los turcos en Valencia el segundo día del calendario regular.
“Ya nos incorporamos al estadio. Estamos listos para nuestro primero entrenamiento”, confesó José Manuel Fernández, gerente deportivo de Bravos. “Tenemos un grupo grande de peloteros. El juego del viernes será reprogramado luego, pero ya el sábado estamos jugando”.
Con el uniforme puesto y la disposición de jugar, están Breyvic Valera, Henry Centeno, Mario Sánchez, Carlos Navas, Manuel Rondón, Omar Carrizales, Luis Castro y Omar Bencomo Jr. Además, otros peloteros jóvenes que intentarán ganarse un puesto dentro del roster de Henry Blanco.
Incluso, el alto mando tiene muchas expectativas en algunos nombres. Melvi Acosta, prometedor lanzador que pertenece a los Mellizos de Minnesota en Major League Baseball, es otro de los nombres que entrenó en Valencia.
El derecho de 25 años de edad dejó efectividad de 2.85 con 75 ponches en las 82 entradas que lanzó en clase A fuerte en 2019. En la LVBP debutó en la zafra 2017-2018, concediendo solo una carrera durante los tres episodios que trabajó con Margarita.
¿Qué sucede con Bravos de Margarita?
¿Por qué Bravos de Margarita no estará listo para el primer día de la temporada de la LVBP? El conjunto insular apenas finalizó su primer entrenamiento cuando el resto de los equipos tenían semanas entrenando. Los motivos, pasan desde los económicos hasta logísticos.
“Han sido días bastante complicados para nosotros”, señaló Fernández durante un contacto para Triángulo Deportivo. “Estábamos en conversaciones y esperando los recursos para hacernos cargos de todo lo necesario para la campaña. Afortunadamente todo se resolvió y estamos listos para jugar”.
La alineación de Henry Blanco, al menos durante las dos primeras semanas, no contará con peloteros importados. El grupo de foráneos de los Bravos es uno de los temas que no todavía no se resolvió del todo, aunque la gerencia espera anunciar contrataciones para la próxima semana.
“Es un tema complicado y bastante complejo por los vuelos internacionales. Eso no es un tema, porque todos sabemos los motivos para que sea difícil el traslado de personas desde el exterior por el Covid-19”, siguió Fernández.
El directivo insistió que, dentro de las complicaciones que llegaron, tienen todo en regla para jugar en la LVBP. La idea de una temporada sin Bravos no pasa por la mente de los gerentes en Margarita, por lo que solo la jornada inaugural ameritará un aplazamiento.
La fecha para la reprogramación del encuentro del viernes 27 de noviembre se decidirá luego. En un calendario apretado, con 40 compromisos por escuadra, la LVBP tendrá que encontrar un espacio para que Bravos y Magallanes se enfrenten en Valencia.
