Considero haber tenido un pequeño acierto en esta cuarentena: asumir desde el día uno que este confinamiento sería bastante largo y no debía escatimar en esfuerzos y energías para comenzar a aprovecharlo desde el primer día.

Fue un cambio abrupto. De haber jugado cinco días antes un partido de Libertadores con un rendimiento individual y colectivo asombroso. Además de haber tenido uno de los mejores arranques de torneo de mi carrera; pasé a frenar todo ese vértigo dentro de estas cuatro paredes y sólo, dicho sea de paso. Arriesgarme a suponer que esto iba para largo me impulsó a ponerme manos a la obra.

Estructuré mis días con mis horarios habituales del fútbol. Empecé a levantarme de la cama a la misma hora, regalándome unos minutos más para mi café de la mañana, mi meditación e inclusive leer un poco. Cumplida mis tareas de entrenamiento a media mañana comienza mi nueva rutina.

Acomodé el rincón que se suponía que era la biblioteca de mi casa; pero que servía para lanzar cosas que estorbaban y ahora se convirtió en mi estudio. El lugar donde entro a las 11:00 de la mañana y salgo solo para comer hasta las 6:30 de la tarde. Se convirtió en mi mundo, mi lugar de estudio, mi oficina donde atiendo mis emprendimientos, donde hago las entrevistas. Donde me siento a no hacer nada, donde procrastino de vez en cuando.

En este lugar me pongo al día con esas cosas de la vida que durante quince años de carrera futbolística no pude hacer y que me están transformando. Escribo estas líneas con un balón debajo de mi pie izquierdo; el mismo modelo del balón con el que salí campeón con el Deportivo Lara en el 2017, un recuerdo del cual muy osadamente me apoderé. Mi realidad es que dentro menos tiempo ese balón dejará de estar en mi pie; por lo que, en este lugar de un metro de ancho por dos de largo, encuentro las puertas que están por abrirse en mi futuro. Debe ser por esto que lo atesoro y lo protejo como si estuviera en un partido ganando 1-0 en el minuto 90. 

Mi nuevo estudio es el lugar donde escribo este artículo. El lugar donde asumo con responsabilidad y disfrute la oportunidad que me da Triángulo Deportivo de experimentar ese mundo de la información. Estar en esos Lives de Instagram los miércoles me permitió reconocer esa bendición que tienen los comunicadores sociales de interactuar con gente asombrosa. Esa oportunidad de adentrarse en sus emociones y experiencias, digerirlas y que sirven luego para ponerla a merced de tus procesos individuales de autoconstrucción.

Es una oportunidad de derrumbar paradigmas o estructuras de pensamientos que estaban alejados de una estructura de coherencia racional. No soy periodista, no cualquiera lo es, no cualquiera maneja el arte, no cualquiera es capaz de desmontar sus modelos de pensamientos para regalarle ese lugar al entrevistado: admiro eso. Lo que puedo ofrecer es el sentimiento, la empatía, el reconocer el lugar en donde se encuentra emocional y mentalmente el entrevistado porque ese es realmente mi lugar.

Al César lo que es del César, al periodismo lo que es del periodismo. Solo me queda agradecer por regalarme la experiencia. Agradecer por permitirme moldearme ante una nueva forma de interacción con la que me conecto. Me encantaría hacer esto en mi futuro, desde mi lugar de intruso, honrando el verdadero arte de la información.

Escribir es uno de mis hobbies, en mi blog escribo cualquier cosa que esté retumbando en mi ser en ese momento, pero la opinión tiene una carga de responsabilidad. Tener una columna de opinión es tener equilibrio. Hay un viejo adagio que dice: “La opinión es ese punto medio entre la ignorancia total y la verdad absoluta”, por ende opinar es un concepto abstracto y requiere de mucha consciencia.
