Chadwick Boseman no necesitó una capa para ser un superhéroe

Todos los que me conocen saben que soy fanática de Marvel, así como saben que el cáncer cambió mi vida luego del fallecimiento de mi madre. Por esta razón, la temprana e inesperada partida de Chadwick Boseman, luego de batallar contra esta terrible enfermedad, me lleva a analizar su legado y sobre todo, su lucha por mantenerse vigente en medio del tratamiento.

Chadwick para muchos fue un superhéroe en la vida real, porque como dice el dicho “no todos los héroes usan capa” y es que, al interpretar con tanto poder a estos personajes, hizo que toda una nueva generación de soñadores afroamericanos y afrodescendientes por el mundo, creyeran en sus sueños y entendieran que lo más importante es el trabajo y la constancia para poder marcar la diferencia.

El actor, diagnosticado con un agresivo cáncer de colon desde 2016, falleció de apenas 43 años. Su partida fue anunciada mediante un comunicado familiar en sus redes sociales. Allí se detalló que no dejó de grabar, a pesar de su padecimiento.

“Chadwick perseveró a través de todo y les trajo muchas de las películas que tanto han llegado a amar. Desde ‘Marshall’ hasta ‘Da 5 Bloods’, ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ de August Wilson y varios más, todos fueron filmados durante y entre innumerables cirugías y quimioterapia”, añadió.

El poder de Black Phanter fue más allá de una película de superhéroes. Logró identificar a toda una comunidad necesitada de cosas buenas. Si bien es cierto que la gran mayoría de los superhéroes fueron creados en una época donde era imposible ver un protagonista de color Marvel, con Pantera Negra se logró demostrar que puede haber superhéroes más recientes con un alma increíble. Además Chadwick Boseman, lo llevó a otro nivel abriendo todo un nuevo universo.

El poder más allá de la actuación

El actor fue un estudioso de la actuación y creyente del buen trabajo. Boseman se dio a conocer como un grande del cine en 2013, cuando representó al mítico Jackie Robinson, en un rol que nos dejó a todos los pelos de punta con su impecable caracterización y con el poder de la misma.

Cuando eres un niño afroamericano de Carolina del Sur, probablemente son muy pocas las veces donde realmente sientes que puedes lograr todo lo que te propones, pero esto no fue un obstáculo para Chadwick Boseman. 

Así como Robinson en su momento, le dio voz a los deportistas de color, la película de Marvel reivindicó la posición afroamericana en los grandes éxitos de superhéroes donde siempre las minorías son ayudantes, amigos o en su defecto el malo.

Boseman era un chamo que venía de una familia de clase media muy normal, pero el actor se preparó y llegó a Hollywood para dejar su nombre marcado en la historia de la gran pantalla. No solo por sus grandes actuaciones si no, por el significado de muchos de los personajes a los que le tocó representar. Logró identificar a toda una comunidad necesitada de cosas buenas

Estados Unidos tiene una lucha durante toda su historia por la reivindicación social y el respeto de las personas de color, Chadwick Boseman demostró con hechos, su aporte y su legado sin ponerse una capa de superhéroe. Y Precisamente se fue el día de Jackie Robinson. Gracias Black Phanter, Wakanda Forever.
