Les voy a ser sincero en las siguientes líneas. Siempre, pero siempre, le fui en contra a Tom Brady y a sus Partriots. No solo porque en las mayorías de ocasiones uno le va en contra a los mejores, sino que mi corazón de Seahawks se llenó de rencor desde ese Super Bowl XLIX, en 2015, que perdimos en el último minuto ante New England.
Así como el resto de la liga, no había mejor placer que ver perder a los “Pats”. Aunque eso no ocurriera tan a menudo.
Pero así como les soy sincero con mi distancia hacia esos increíbles Patriots, les debo ser sinceros y confesarles y afirmarles que no hay mejor mariscal de campo en la historia del fútbol americano de la NFL que mister Tom Brady.
Hay muchos nombres que por mi edad no logré ver, como Montana, Marino o Elway. Pero, no hace falta haber vivido en otra época para darse cuenta de la grandeza y lo especial de los números de Brady. Al final, estos no mienten.
Nadie, pero nadie en la historia de la NFL ha logrado hacer lo que este señor ha hecho. Siete anillos de campeonatos en 10 Super Bowl, además de cinco MVP en finales derrotando a los mejores quarterbacks del circuito.
A eso hay que sumarle que sus números en postemporada no tienen comparación. Lidera casi todos los renglones ofensivos dentro de la liga y no hay nadie que apunte a igualar pronto.

Si no me creen, ni Patrick Mahomes, el mariscal de campo de los Chiefs, llamado a ser su sucesor, pudo derrotarlo. En este último Super Bowl fue superado con creces por Brady.
Porque aunque no lo hemos tocado todavía, esta columna nace luego de que los Tampa Bay Buccaneers aplastaran a los Kansas City Chiefs con marcador de 31-9 en el Super Bowl LV.
La magia del Super Bowl LV
Brady se alzó como el jugador más valioso al lanzar tres touchdowns y sumar 201 yardas aéreas tras aprovechar cada una de las penalidades que la defensiva de los Chiefs cometieron a lo largo de compromiso.
Ante un tipo como Brady, estos errores no se pueden cometer y por supuesto los hizo pagar muy caro. Así como ha hecho pagar a decenas de equipos a lo largo de sus 20 años en la NFL.
A pesar que se le daba por muerta su carrera al irse de los Patriots con 43 años de edad y a un equipo de Tampa Bay con muchas aspiraciones, pero bastante inestable, Brady demostró por qué es el mejor. Llevo a su nueva organización a conseguir el segundo Super Bowl de su historia.
Acompañado de su inseparable compañero, Rob Gronkowski, Brady lanzó los dos primeros pases de anotación al que es considerado el mejor ala cerrada de la historia y repitió la combinación ganadora que juntos tuvieron en New England.
También hay que darle mucho crédito a la defensa de Tamba Bay. Limitaron a nueve puntos a la mejor ofensiva de la liga y ultrafavoritos para repetir el título conseguido el año pasado.
Obviamente, como ya lo mencionamos, los planes de Brady y compañía no eran los mismos.
Siendo el primer equipo que juega un compromiso de este estilo en su casa, no quisieron defraudar a los 25.000 espectadores presentes en el Raymond James Stadium. Todos disfrutaron y gozaron con esta impresionante victoria, así como con la música de The Weeknd en el show del medio tiempo.
No hay mucho más que decir. Lo de anoche fue historia pura. Debemos sentirnos privilegiados de ver a uno de los mejores deportistas de la historia todavía en acción y con aspiraciones a verlo un par de años más.
Porque a sus 43, Brady ha comentado varías veces que aspira seguir jugando hasta los 45 años de edad. Y es que además de talento, el mariscal es reconocido por su disciplina, esa misma que lo lleva a cumplir una estricta dieta alimentaria y que lo llevó a llegar a los entrenamientos de los “Bucs” a las 5:00 de la mañana para aprender el sistema ofensiva de su nuevo equipo.

- Sus siete anillos de campeonato superan los de cualquier franquicia de la NFL. Los Patriots y los Steelers, que son los que más tienen, cuenta con seis cada uno.
- Junto a Peyton Manning son los únicos dos mariscales campo en ganar un Super Bowl con dos equipos diferentes.
- Es el primer jugador en la historia de la NFL en ganar dos campeonatos después de los 40 años de edad (vía @EliasSports)
- Brady suma 19 pases de anotación en Super Bowl. El segundo en la lista es Joe Montana con 11.
- Sus cinco premios MVP en el Super Bowl son la mayor cantidad para un jugador. Joe Montana es segundo con tres premios.
