Las Asociaciones Miembro entre la Conmebol y la FIFA se reunieron con el propósito de ratificar las eliminatorias mundialistas desde este mismo año. A diferencia de la Concacaf, que decidió esperar para inicio del 2021, el organismo que rige a las selecciones sudamericanas iniciará su camino el 8 y 13 de octubre del 2020.
Los presidentes de las Asociaciones Miembro de la CONMEBOL junto con el titular de esta entidad mantuvieron una reunión por vía de teleconferencia con el presidente de la FIFA, Gianni Infantino, para ultimar detalles de las Clasificatorias para la Copa del Mundo Qatar 2022.
En un comunicado colgado en la página oficial de la Conmebol, se dio a conocer la ratificación de los encuentros.
Contarán con sus jugadores
Un problema que salió a relucir cuando la Conmebol estudiaba la posibilidad de llevar a cabo los partidos en la fecha de octubre. Era que las selecciones quizás no contarían con sus principales jugadores, por ser amarrados por sus clubes en Europa. Eso quedó en el pasado con la promesa realizada por el presidente de la FIFA.
El titular de la FIFA, Gianni Infantino, declaró que la institución hará cumplir el reglamento que obliga a los clubes a liberar los jugadores. En favor de sus respectivas selecciones.
Infantino aseguró el cumplimiento de los reglamentos vigentes con relación a la cesión de jugadores por parte de los clubes en favor de las selecciones nacionales. Esta fue una solicitud concreta de las Asociaciones Miembro de la CONMEBOL, con miras a disponer cada una de ellas de su máximo potencial de cara a la competencia.
De esa forma, se espera que todas las selecciones participantes, podrán contar con sus mejores piezas.
