El jinete Cipriano Gil, líder de la estadística en el Hipódromo La Rinconada, tendrá el principal compromiso este domingo con la yegua Deslumbrante en el marco del Clásico Gustavo J. Sanabria (Grado 2).
Gil ha ganado 17 carreras este año, de las cuales nueve han sido en el juego del 5y6.
El fusta guayanés, de 21 años, buscará su tercera victoria en el historial del Clásico Gustavo J. Sanabria. La primera vez fue con Pregonera, en 2017, y el año anterior con Deslumbrante, que también intentará convertirse en la única yegua en ganar dos veces y seguidas el clásico.
Deslumbrante, entrenada de Humberto Correia, resulta la gran favorita para dominar este domingo en los 2.000 metros del cotejo selectivo. Va de 1-1 en esa distancia.

“La yegua atraviesa por óptimas condiciones. Muy bien en sus ejercicios y trataremos de lograr mi tercer triunfo en este clásico y el segundo seguido de la yegua. Será una gran satisfacción”, dijo luego de culminar su jornada de traqueos este miércoles en La Rinconada.
“Llevamos el mayor chance de la carrera. Deslumbrante viene de ganarse a Afrodita de Padua. Vamos a los cuatro codos y confío en mi ejemplar. Es grandiosa”, resaltó Cipriano Gil.

Gil: “La vamos a correr más cerca”
Cipriano Gil también habló de la posible estrategia para la carrera de este domingo, el Clásico Gustavo J. Sanabria.
“En octubre del año pasado corrió 2.400 metros. Luego fue a los 2.000 metros y corrió un poco lejos. Pero, nunca la abandoné y ganamos”, declaró el joven de los estribos quien se inició montando a caballos desde los 10 años de edad.
“Para este clásico la vamos a correr más cerca. El planteamiento será totalmente diferente”, manifestó.
“Pienso que al menos unas tres yeguas van a salir a buscar la punta. Eso es lo que pienso. Nosotros a la expectativa y en los 300 metros finales, a Deslumbrante tendrán que correrle mucho”, soltó.
Deslumbrante es una yegua de siete años, nacida y criada en el haras Los Caracaros, de la familia Celis.
Ganadora de 14 carreras, de las cuales nueve han sido selectivas, en 22 salidas a la pista y en defensa del selecto stud Los Audaces.
